WE HAVE TEETH!

Yes!!! Last night I was giving Harrison a bath. He pulled my finger to his mouth, and I felt of his bottom gum and there was a tooth!!!! I was so excited. Of course, he just looked at me like I had lost my mind.  Then, this morning, again I was feeling of his gum, (to make sure I had really felt a tooth last night) and I felt another one! So...he has his two bottom teeth! Right there in front! He won't really let me see them. Every time I try to, he puts his little tongue over his gums.  They are there though!!  I wish I could take a picture, but like I said, he won't let me see them. I honestly don't know whether I should feel super excited or sad that my baby is growing so quickly. I'm sure the next couple of months will bring many  more new things!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas was very exciting around our house this year! Now, Harrison had no clue what was going on, but he did enjoy a lot of paper!!
Saturday night, we headed over to Jeff's dad's house for Katie's birthday dinner and gifts.  Amy always makes tortellinis (they're delish!) Katie turned 16 this year, so it was extra special!
The kids playing.

Reese wanted to help Aunt Katie open her gifts. :)

Katie's cowboy boots from her parents.

I had to get one of him with his little hood on.
Christmas morning, I woke up around 5:30 (yes, I know.) I got up about 6:15 and watched a little t.v. I was very shocked when the bedroom door opened around 6:30 and out walked Jeff! We decided to go ahead and open our gifts from each other, that way, when Harrison woke up, we would have it out of the way.  Jeff spoiled me this year. He got me a beautiful new watch and a pair of riding boots. I got Jeff a Daniel Moore painting of a play during the National Championship game a couple years ago. He also got a lot of stuff for his new truck.
Harrison finally woke up around 7 or 7:15. He ate, and then we sat down to open his gifts from Santa and us. Jeff and I were much more excited than Harrison.
My mom, sister and everybody in Alabama head to my grandparents' house on Christmas morning for breakfast and then gifts. With technology these days, we were able to Skype on Katie's phone and see everyone! I was so excited. Usually, on Christmas morning, I have a little sad time because I can't see everyone. This year, I did! It was awesome. I do wish I could have been there with them, though. :)
Later that morning, I cooked a little breakfast and Telena, Jarod, Reese, Natalie and Mike came over. We ate and then opened gifts. Harrison racked up!! Aunt Teeny, Uncle Jarod and Reese got Harrison a book called, "My Very Own Pirate Tale." It has Harrison's name within the story. It was such a neat gift.  He got toys, clothes and books!
That afternoon, we went over to Jeff's dad's house for lunch and gifts.  We had turkey, ham, potatoes, mac and cheese (made by Teeny) and green bean casserole. I was stuffed!!!  Again, Harrison made out like a bandit! This kid is not short on anything!
After that, we went over to Mike's daughter's house.  We did gifts for the kids over there. Harrison got toys and clothes. By the end of that, we were all exhausted!!! Harrison had only had one nap, and his poor little eyes were so heavy.  We made it home around 6:15 that night.  Harrison got a bath, and he wen to bed. He slept from 7 that night to 7 the next morning! Poor little guy was exhausted from all the festivities.
We had such a wonderful first Christmas with this guy! We are so blessed to have such great families that we can share Christmas with.
Enjoy the pics!!!
This was when he woke up.

Playing with his toy from Gigi.

He steals Sammy's toys. :)

This was the book Teeny got him. He had been up for over 3 hours, so he was tired!

Merry Christmas!

My two favorite guys!!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!

6 Months Old

It is SO hard to believe that we have had Harrison here with us for six whole months.  We are seeing so much more of his personality lately, and I love what I am seeing. He is very passionate in whatever he is doing. If he is laughing, he does it whole heartedly.  If he is mad, he does it with full force. If he is playing, he has all his focus on that toy.

Harrison:

-weighs 18lbs and 12oz. He is in the 75th percentile.
-is 26.25 inches long. He is in the 35th percentile.  He's still a short, solid boy. *Solid was the word that Dr. Chandler used to describe him.*
-is eating stage 2 foods now.  We haven't really given him a lot, but what he has gotten so far, he loves. He doesn't seem like he is going to be a picky eater, but it may be too early to tell. The only thing that he hasn't really "liked" is peas. Even when he ate those, he still ate the whole container. He just didn't seem thrilled about it.
-is starting to get up on his hands and knees like he is going to crawl. He will push himself backwards, but he is still working on forwards.
-LOVES his exersaucer!!!! He will have some conversations with the caterpillar, hit the musical keys and beat up the sun on the back of it!
-still has Sammy as his BFF! He can be a little fussy, and he sees Sam and all is well again. Sam loves H as well. He keeps trying to give Harrison his toy to throw for him. We'll see if Sam still feels the same way when Harrison gets a little bigger and can aggravate him!
-is now in size 3 diapers!! He is getting so big!
-has found a new obsession...PAPER!
-is not a fan of Santa!! As soon as I figure out how to post the pic, I will get it up.  We thought that Reese may not like him, because she has not been a fan. However, Harrison lost it!! So, I don't know how the future will go as far as visits with Santa are concerned.
-loves talking to Aunt Katie and Taryn on Skype.  Him and Taryn both try their best to get each other through the computer. It's the sweetest thing!!
-is such a ham in front of the camera. As soon as I put the camera or phone on him, he starts smiling!

Harrison,
You are growing into such a wonderful little boy! We couldn't be happier with you, and we can't wait to watch you grow even more. Happy 6 months sweet boy!
Love,
Mama and Daddy

Harrison's First Night Away

Jeff's week was a little mixed up this week due to some training for Hyundai and the Grand Opening at the dealership, so instead of him having his usual Wednesday off, he had Friday. I finally bit the bullet and decided that I would see if Harrison could stay with Gammy and Jeff and I could have a night to ourselves. Jeff's mom gladly agreed, although I think she was very surprised that I asked if he could stay the night. Harrison is just now starting to have separation anxiety, but I have been having it since June 18! Jeff and I dropped Harrison off around 5 Friday afternoon. It was very hard to leave our sweet boy, but I managed to walk out the door. We went to eat at Cheesecake Factory. We were going to go watch a movie afterwards, but halfway through dinner, Jeff said that he was very tired and he may not make it through the movie. I was so glad that he said it. I was very tired as well! So, yes, our first night without the baby and we were home watching TV by 7 p.m. and were asleep by 10 p.m.  It's funny how your weekend plans change when you become parents.
I went to pick Harrison up around ten this morning. I could have went earlier since I was awake at 7:15!! Natalie said that he slept very well last night, and did very well. He did not like his bath, however.  He seems to be particular about how he gets clean.
I missed him so much, and I was so excited to see him!
Thanks Gammy for letting Harrison come to his first spend-the-night party!!

A Gift, Gift Wrapping and a 5 Month Old

I grew up being a huge Alabama fan. There was no other choice, and I was lucky enough to attend games all the time. My mom would take me, along with my preschool teacher. As I grew up, I always kept in touch with her. She now has a daughter that just graduated from UA. Of course, her daughter, Constance,  has Facebook. She saw pictures of Harrison one day while Mrs. Cindy was there with her. She got a hold of me and asked what size Harrison was in. A few days later, we received a package. Honestly, it was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. So...in honor of Bama going to the National Championship, here is the cutest Big Al EVER!!!

Gotta love that face!
I was wrapping gifts this morning, and thought that Harrison could "help." He was such a good helper! We wrapped Daddy's gifts and he picked out the paper. :) I can't wait for Christmas morning!! He loved the wrapping paper!! It's going to be so much fun seeing him trying to open his gifts!

He is doing well at sitting up. He gets a little crazy with it sometimes, but for the most part, he stays up.
A couple posts ago, I did his 5 months stats.  And yes, I forgot pictures. So...finally, here they are. :)

Always with the hands!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, we went over to Teeny and Jarod's house for Thanksgiving. I agreed to do the turkey.  It was a little ambitious, but I figured I had to start sometime. All the food was awesome!!  Jeff even had his pumpkin pie. :) His Aunt Cheryl would always make one just for him, and since we aren't in Mississippi with her, I made him one. I messed up the crust, but Jeff said it taste good. Now, he could have just been sparing my feelings.  Either way, thanks honey!!  Michael did eat one piece, but the rest was all Jeff.
Harrison decided that he wasn't up for all of the Thanksgiving commotion, so he slept through dinner and the festivities after. He finally woke up around 4:30 (he slept for 3 hours!) He was so tired.
After dinner, we played Guesstures. It was boys against girls! Jeff, Michael and Jarod against Teeny, Katie and myself. The girls won! I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm not. I did have a bit of an issue with the word, "towel." Apparently, I don't dry off like other people. Both teams did really well, (the boys had a little help from the peanut gallery, otherwise known as Terry Luker.) However, if you ever want to see a "friendly" competition, don't come to the Lukers! Talk about competitive. I have to admit, I am very competitive, especially playing Jeff. Anyway, it didn't get too ugly and we were still friends when we left. :)
Here are some pics from the day. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food, but again, I dropped the ball!

So sweet!!

This was after he woke up from his nap! Amazing what a long nap will do. :)

Our first Thanksgiving as a family of  three!!

5 Months!!

Harrison turned 5 months old last Friday! I know I say this every month, but I can't believe how fast he is growing!

Harrison:

-has started to wear 9 month clothes!! Mainly shirts, because he has short little legs! I am going to have to start getting the two piece pj sets, due to the fact that it is really hard to get the sleepers zipped over his legs!
-"weighs" 19 lbs! We did a little weighing session at the office the other day, and it looks to be that he has grown a lot since he was 4 months.
-can sit up for a few seconds on his own. He is still learning, but he is getting there.
-rolls over....ALL THE TIME!!! He is very quick about it, too! I know that I am in a lot of trouble when he starts crawling/walking.
-will move his legs when he is on his belly. He gets so frustrated when he can't move. So, I don't think it will be too long.
-still loves being outside.
-LOVES Sam!! The older he gets, the more he likes Sam. He will watch him, and turn his head to wherever he goes.
-soaks me when I am giving him a bath. He has the splashing down to an art!
-LOVES it when Daddy is home. There are days when Jeff is home, and he is all Harrison wants. It's the sweetest thing for a Mama to see. :)
-has started making sure he is holding onto me when I feed him, especially, at night.
-is ready to cut some teeth! We have been going through the trials of teething, and H is miserable some days. Hopefully, Santa will bring a tooth or two for Christmas.

I know I am falling behind on pictures, but I promise I will get some up soon!!!

Thankful

On Facebook lately, everyone has been telling what they are thankful each day. Well, I still have a little pregnancy brain lingering, so I forget a lot of days. So, I decided that I would write a little post. :)

-I am thankful for this little guy! I honestly couldn't imagine my life without him in it now. Jeff and I went down a long road to get pregnant with Harrison. There were many days that I wanted to give up, but I knew that we were meant to be parents. All of the sad days were worth it, and I would do it all over again. We got the most precious gift God could have given us. This little boy is the light of our lives, and we love him with everything that we have.
How cute!
-I am thankful for this guy, too! It has been seven years, and I love him more and more each day! He is still my best friend. I thank God every day that he put Jeff in my life. I couldn't have made it though a lot without him. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be the person that I am today. He is such a wonderful husband and father to Harrison. I can't wait to see what the future brings for us and our sweet little family.
:D
-I am thankful for my sisters! It's so great to be close to my sisters. I'm sure Katie gets tired of my baby questions randomly through the day. :) But, she is always there no matter what. I am so glad that I get to watch Jesie grow into a beautiful person. I wish I was closer to see it more, but I know she will be great! I love them both so very much, and miss them so much!!!
This one is from a few years ago, but I love it!
-I am thankful for my family back at home in Alabama! I miss all of y'all so much everyday!! I miss Nanny's cooking, talks with Aunt Laura, and just hanging out with my mom. Not being there makes going home so great!! It's like I never left!

-I am thankful for my second family! Thank y'all so much for taking me in as one of your own. I don't think I could get through day to day out here without y'all. Y'all are not "in-laws" to me, more like real family! Also, thanks for trusting me to cook the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm not sure what you got yourselves into, but we'll see. :)

-I am thankful for my very best friend in the world, Drew! She has gotten me through some rough days. She always knows the best things to say, and I miss seeing her everyday! I can't wait to go see her in January!!!

-I am thankful for my two beautiful nieces!!! I love them both so very much! Reese is so funny, and loves her baby cousin. Taryn is so sweet and lovable. I love seeing her and Harrison together. I'm also thankful that we have Skype so that Katie and I can watch each other's babies grow!!

I have so much more I am thankful for, but I will be here all day, and I have a turkey to tend to. :) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Saturday at the Park

This past Saturday, (yes, I know I take my time with updating the blog, but I am still learning time management with my sweet baby boy) we went with Teeny and Reese to the park. Harrison loves to be outside, so I figured he would LOVE it. We met Shay and Rebecca there (Rebecca is Reese's BFF.) Harrison slept for the first little bit, and I got to take some pics of Rebecca and Reese playing.

My sweet boy

Rebecca and Reese

Harrison finally woke up. We decided to put him in the baby swing that they had. Reese and Rebecca both pushed him. He loved the swing!! We stayed for a while (it started getting a little windy.) Harrison was exhausted that night! Playing with the big kids wears him out! We had so much fun at the park. We will definitely be going back.
It was Game Day, so we had to represent. :)

His new favorite thing.

Harrison's First Halloween

When I first thought of Harrison dressing up, I had thought that he could be a lobster. Random, I know. However, I saw a cow costume. I thought he would be the cutest cow ever! I contacted my resident Halloween expert, Reese, and asked her what H should be. She said a cow. So, we got the baby cow costume! I was right on with my cutest cow prediction. He was not too fond of the hat part, but the rest wasn't too bad.

We had just gotten back from Alabama, and it was the end of the month, so Jeff wasn't able to go with us trick-or-treating. I took Harrison up to the dealership that afternoon. He was a big hit!
Harrison and Daddy
Last year, we went over to Teeny's to trick-or-treat with Reese. She invited us over to do the same this year. She ordered pizza and had a few friends come over too. We didn't get to go trick-or-treating due to Harrison's bedtime creeping up on us. We did get a few pictures though. Hopefully, next year we will be able to stay out a little later. :)
Excuse my big hair.

A Very Runge Wedding!

David and Megan got married this past Saturday. Jeff was a groomsman. He was very excited. The last time we saw David was when Bama won the National Championship two years ago. He hadn't even met Megan yet! David's little sister, Leah, and I are really good friends, so I was excited to see her too! Plus, neither one of them had met our sweet little boy! Jeff was busy with all of the wedding festivities so H and I did our own little thing, which meant hitting up the mall in Decatur. :) We had a lot of fun though. The wedding was beautiful. Again, the weather was awesome!!  All of the leaves on the trees were turning colors. I think Jeff got tired of me talking about how pretty the trees were there. The wedding was outside, so of course, Harrison was very content. We didn't get to stay long at the reception due to the time and a little boy needing to get in bed. We didn't really have enough time with them. Hopefully, the Runges (all of them) will be planning a trip to Houston soon!!
Leah and I!

Too funny!
