Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, we went over to Teeny and Jarod's house for Thanksgiving. I agreed to do the turkey.  It was a little ambitious, but I figured I had to start sometime. All the food was awesome!!  Jeff even had his pumpkin pie. :) His Aunt Cheryl would always make one just for him, and since we aren't in Mississippi with her, I made him one. I messed up the crust, but Jeff said it taste good. Now, he could have just been sparing my feelings.  Either way, thanks honey!!  Michael did eat one piece, but the rest was all Jeff.
Harrison decided that he wasn't up for all of the Thanksgiving commotion, so he slept through dinner and the festivities after. He finally woke up around 4:30 (he slept for 3 hours!) He was so tired.
After dinner, we played Guesstures. It was boys against girls! Jeff, Michael and Jarod against Teeny, Katie and myself. The girls won! I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm not. I did have a bit of an issue with the word, "towel." Apparently, I don't dry off like other people. Both teams did really well, (the boys had a little help from the peanut gallery, otherwise known as Terry Luker.) However, if you ever want to see a "friendly" competition, don't come to the Lukers! Talk about competitive. I have to admit, I am very competitive, especially playing Jeff. Anyway, it didn't get too ugly and we were still friends when we left. :)
Here are some pics from the day. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food, but again, I dropped the ball!

So sweet!!

This was after he woke up from his nap! Amazing what a long nap will do. :)

Our first Thanksgiving as a family of  three!!

5 Months!!

Harrison turned 5 months old last Friday! I know I say this every month, but I can't believe how fast he is growing!

Harrison:

-has started to wear 9 month clothes!! Mainly shirts, because he has short little legs! I am going to have to start getting the two piece pj sets, due to the fact that it is really hard to get the sleepers zipped over his legs!
-"weighs" 19 lbs! We did a little weighing session at the office the other day, and it looks to be that he has grown a lot since he was 4 months.
-can sit up for a few seconds on his own. He is still learning, but he is getting there.
-rolls over....ALL THE TIME!!! He is very quick about it, too! I know that I am in a lot of trouble when he starts crawling/walking.
-will move his legs when he is on his belly. He gets so frustrated when he can't move. So, I don't think it will be too long.
-still loves being outside.
-LOVES Sam!! The older he gets, the more he likes Sam. He will watch him, and turn his head to wherever he goes.
-soaks me when I am giving him a bath. He has the splashing down to an art!
-LOVES it when Daddy is home. There are days when Jeff is home, and he is all Harrison wants. It's the sweetest thing for a Mama to see. :)
-has started making sure he is holding onto me when I feed him, especially, at night.
-is ready to cut some teeth! We have been going through the trials of teething, and H is miserable some days. Hopefully, Santa will bring a tooth or two for Christmas.

I know I am falling behind on pictures, but I promise I will get some up soon!!!

Thankful

On Facebook lately, everyone has been telling what they are thankful each day. Well, I still have a little pregnancy brain lingering, so I forget a lot of days. So, I decided that I would write a little post. :)

-I am thankful for this little guy! I honestly couldn't imagine my life without him in it now. Jeff and I went down a long road to get pregnant with Harrison. There were many days that I wanted to give up, but I knew that we were meant to be parents. All of the sad days were worth it, and I would do it all over again. We got the most precious gift God could have given us. This little boy is the light of our lives, and we love him with everything that we have.
How cute!
-I am thankful for this guy, too! It has been seven years, and I love him more and more each day! He is still my best friend. I thank God every day that he put Jeff in my life. I couldn't have made it though a lot without him. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be the person that I am today. He is such a wonderful husband and father to Harrison. I can't wait to see what the future brings for us and our sweet little family.
:D
-I am thankful for my sisters! It's so great to be close to my sisters. I'm sure Katie gets tired of my baby questions randomly through the day. :) But, she is always there no matter what. I am so glad that I get to watch Jesie grow into a beautiful person. I wish I was closer to see it more, but I know she will be great! I love them both so very much, and miss them so much!!!
This one is from a few years ago, but I love it!
-I am thankful for my family back at home in Alabama! I miss all of y'all so much everyday!! I miss Nanny's cooking, talks with Aunt Laura, and just hanging out with my mom. Not being there makes going home so great!! It's like I never left!

-I am thankful for my second family! Thank y'all so much for taking me in as one of your own. I don't think I could get through day to day out here without y'all. Y'all are not "in-laws" to me, more like real family! Also, thanks for trusting me to cook the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm not sure what you got yourselves into, but we'll see. :)

-I am thankful for my very best friend in the world, Drew! She has gotten me through some rough days. She always knows the best things to say, and I miss seeing her everyday! I can't wait to go see her in January!!!

-I am thankful for my two beautiful nieces!!! I love them both so very much! Reese is so funny, and loves her baby cousin. Taryn is so sweet and lovable. I love seeing her and Harrison together. I'm also thankful that we have Skype so that Katie and I can watch each other's babies grow!!

I have so much more I am thankful for, but I will be here all day, and I have a turkey to tend to. :) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Saturday at the Park

This past Saturday, (yes, I know I take my time with updating the blog, but I am still learning time management with my sweet baby boy) we went with Teeny and Reese to the park. Harrison loves to be outside, so I figured he would LOVE it. We met Shay and Rebecca there (Rebecca is Reese's BFF.) Harrison slept for the first little bit, and I got to take some pics of Rebecca and Reese playing.

Harrison finally woke up. We decided to put him in the baby swing that they had. Reese and Rebecca both pushed him. He loved the swing!! We stayed for a while (it started getting a little windy.) Harrison was exhausted that night! Playing with the big kids wears him out! We had so much fun at the park. We will definitely be going back.
It was Game Day, so we had to represent. :)

His new favorite thing.

Harrison's First Halloween

When I first thought of Harrison dressing up, I had thought that he could be a lobster. Random, I know. However, I saw a cow costume. I thought he would be the cutest cow ever! I contacted my resident Halloween expert, Reese, and asked her what H should be. She said a cow. So, we got the baby cow costume! I was right on with my cutest cow prediction. He was not too fond of the hat part, but the rest wasn't too bad.

We had just gotten back from Alabama, and it was the end of the month, so Jeff wasn't able to go with us trick-or-treating. I took Harrison up to the dealership that afternoon. He was a big hit!
Harrison and Daddy
Last year, we went over to Teeny's to trick-or-treat with Reese. She invited us over to do the same this year. She ordered pizza and had a few friends come over too. We didn't get to go trick-or-treating due to Harrison's bedtime creeping up on us. We did get a few pictures though. Hopefully, next year we will be able to stay out a little later. :)
Excuse my big hair.
