Just had to share!

I have a couple new favorite pictures, and I wanted to share them. Enjoy!

9 Months

Happy 9 months to our sweet baby boy!!!!!! I can't believe it! It is so crazy to me that in 3 months, he will be a year old! I don't think I am ready for it! Harrison has changed so much just within the past month.  Everyday is a brand new adventure. He keeps us on our toes already. I can only imagine how it will be once he starts to walk everywhere.

Harrison:

-weighs 21 lbs and 9 oz.  He is in the 80th percentile for weight.
-is 28 inches long. He is in the 40th percentile for height. :(
-is in size 4 diapers and 12 month clothes all around.  Some shorts are a little long on him, but as you can see, he doesn't have the longest legs.
-is army crawling EVERYWHERE!! It's exhausting. If there is an electronic or chord anywhere in the vicinity, he will find it.  We had put a cover over the chord to the video monitor in his room because it was behind his crib. This morning, when he went down for his nap, we checked on him on the monitor and he had stuck his hand down the back of the crib to the part of the chord that wasn't covered and pulled it up and was playing with it!! He is very clever and very sneaky! He got very upset when Daddy moved the chord to another outlet! I don't know how well that's going to work either. When we play in his room now, he goes straight to it.  We have to figure something out.
-is pulling up to his knees.  He hasn't quite gotten to his feet yet. The doctor says since he is a big boy, it may take him a little bit. She said that he should be doing it by 10 months.
-has made a few new friends.  We go to a workout class during the week. Moms all bring their kids and we workout while they are in their strollers.
-is eating more and more solid foods.  He still loves just about anything we put in front of him.  After he had eaten baby food the other day, I put some mac and cheese on his tray (mainly to help with his pincer grasp skills.) He loved it. Although, once I picked him up, I am fairly certain that there was more ON his belly than IN it!
-still only says "dada." I think he is starting to say, "hey." No "mama" yet, though. :(
-is doing great with sleep.  He sleeps all night, and usually takes at least one great nap during the day, if not two.
-has 4 teeth that have broken through. He has the two front bottom, and one top front and one top side.  The other side tooth up top is about to break though.  I don't know where that other top front tooth is or when it will decide to show up.

Harrison is such a blessing to our family.  Sometimes I can't believe that I get to be this little guy's mom.

8 Months

I know, I know. I am super late.  We have been a little out of sorts with our quick trip to Alabama. Then, last Sunday, Harrison woke up with a snotty nose. It just got worse and worse this week.  He hasn't felt too good all week long. I think he is finally getting over the little cold. So glad we survived his first one.
Anywho, Happy 8 Months Harrison!!!!! I can't believe it has been 8 whole months!!! It goes by faster and faster each month. Our little boy is showing more and more of his personality and doing more stuff everyday.

Harrison:
-weighs around 20 or 21 lbs.  We weighed at Mom's in Alabama, and it was around 21 lbs.
-is still not crawling, but he is getting better. He will spin on his tummy and then roll anywhere he wants to go.  OR he will scoot on his little booty. He has recently found the coffee table. :)
-is eating more and more solid foods. We still haven't found too much that he doesn't like.  Recently, he has tried collards, pumpkin baby food, peach cobbler baby food, and little yogurt melts. He LOVES the yogurt melts. Of course, if it tastes like yogurt, I'm pretty sure that he would love it.
-is eating 7 oz of formula around every 3-4 hours.  First thing in the morning, he eats 8 oz.  Usually later on in the morning, he eats some cereal with fruit.  He gets yogurt after lunch, and then a veggie and fruit at dinner.  He knows the containers and that it's time to eat when I get them out.
-has started to clap. You can say, "yay!" and he will clap his hands. It's so cute!!!
-is still only saying, "dada." Maybe one day....
-is still in 9 month clothes, but he just moved up to size 4 diapers. They are a little big, but the size 3s were starting to get tight on his legs. :(
-loves playing his little piano. He will sing for you and play it. :)
-goes to bed around 7, unless he has had a long day or his afternoon nap didn't go well. If that happens, it's a little earlier.  He USUALLY sleeps until 5:30 or 6. He will take a nap about 2 or 2.5 hours after he gets up, and then another nap around 2 or 2:30.
-still loves his baths. Now, he will stand up beside the tub and hold on to it while I get the water ready. He gets so excited!

You are growing into a wonderful little boy. We are so excited to watch you grow everyday. We love you so much! Happy 8 months baby boy!!

An Unexpected Trip

Last Monday, my best friend, Drew called to let me know that her Gran had a stroke.  She was, of course, devastated.  Drew and Gran were very close. I do believe that Drew got a lot of her humor from Gran.  The next couple of days were up in the air.  She got better, and there was home. Then, suddenly, she took a turn for the worse.  There was no question in my mind of whether or not I would go home.  Harrison and I got all packed, and we were ready to leave Friday morning.  When I got up Friday morning, I had a text from Matt (Drew's husband) saying that Gran had passed away. I knew that Drew would be very upset, so I decided that I would call her on my way.
Harrison did very well on the trip. I think everyone was very nervous since it was just the two of us.  He would sleep, wake up and eat, play then go back to sleep.  It rained the ENTIRE way!! It didn't stop until later on that night after we had been at Mom's for a while.  H got a little fussy about Mobile, but the trip had taken a lot longer than usual due to the torrential downpour the whole way.
Saturday, I went up to Excel to spend some time with Drew, and Harrison stayed with Mom. He even went and watched Aunt Jesie cheer at a basketball game.  From what I hear, he was quite the ladies man with all the cheerleaders.  Saturday night, Katie brought Taryn over to spend the night.  H and T are so funny together.  She is moving around quite a bit, and Harrison is still working on it.  They would give each other kisses.  I think Taryn really liked kissing Harrison's head.  It was so cute!!!
Sunday was the visitation and the funeral.  I took H with me that morning because I got a lot of questions as to where he was the first day I was there.  Of course, he went straight to Brantley.  He loves her! We headed over to the church and ate with Drew's family.  Mom, Katie and Taryn came a little later. They stayed and visited then took Harrison with them so I could stay for the funeral.
Monday, we went and ate breakfast with Nanny and Paw-paw.  Then, we went to visit Me-me.
All weekend, we got a lot of compliments on how happy Harrison was the whole time! He also tried some  new foods while we were there.  He loves collards!!! I know, I was shocked as well.  He likes grits, Ritz crackers and mashed potatoes.  I said it before, but I don't think we are gonna have a picky eater.
I wish we could have seen everybody, but our trip was so unexpected and short, that we just didn't have the time.  Here are a few pics from the trip.

Like I said, Taryn is going everywhere. H was sitting there and she just started crawling on the toy.

I'm glad we got to go home, but it was honestly one of the toughest things to do.  It was so hard to see Drew so upset.  Gran was such a special woman. She was always full of life.  She had a joke for everything. I am so lucky that I even knew her.  Over the years, we visited Gran a lot while I was with Drew.  She always treated me like one of her grandkids, and when Jeff came into my life, she treated him the same way.  We are so sad to see her go, but so happy that she is in a better place looking over all of her "kids."

7 Months

I know, I know...it has taken me forever to post his 7 month stats.  The Luker household has been infected these past couple of weeks. H and I had a virus in Georgia, and apparently, it followed us home.  Jeff acquired the virus, and right after that, Harrison got a cold.  Then, of course, I got the cold. So, it has been a whirlwind of a week. Among all the sickness, our sweet boy turned seven months old!!! He is just 5 months away from being a year old!!! This is just beyond me.  He is growing so much everyday and becoming his own little person.  He is such a fun and active little boy!! We can't wait to see his personality develop even more!

Harrison:

-is down to taking 2 naps a day! We finally have somewhat of a nap schedule.  It only took us about 6.5 months, but we got it down!
-is taking baths like a big boy. He still sits in his baby tub, but he is sitting up and playing.
-LOVES all solid food!! His new favorite is yogurt!! We tried him on the Gerber brand, and he liked it.  Then, Aunt Teeny gave us some that she had, and he LOVES it.  He is like his Daddy with his fondness of fruits and yogurt.
-is talking up a  storm.  He has "dada" down to an art! We're still working on "mama."
-is still working on crawling.  He will still go backwards and rock on his hands and knees. I'm sure it won't be long before he is on the move, and I am pulling my hair out.
-went on his first bike ride with Aunt Teeny on Sunday.  From what we hear, biking is his new favorite thing.
-still only has the 2 teeth. I am almost positive that he has more coming in after what has went on today.
-is in a convertible car seat.  We got him a new one last week.  He was fitting a little snug in the infant car seat, and with the new laws, you have to have them rear facing until they are two.  And since he is over the weight requirement, we thought he may be a little more comfortable. He loves it.  He is still trying to figure it out, as well as where his hanging toys are.

Harrison,
Mama and Daddy love you so much, and we are having so much fun watching you grow.  We can't wait to see what the next month brings. You are the light of our lives!!

National Champions!!

ROLL TIDE!!!! We were so excited for a chance at another National Championship.  Luckily, I got back the day before the game. Jeff and I went to an Alumni bar downtown call Firkin and Phoenix.  Our friends, Steve and Lauren, got there early and got us a seat right up front.  We were right in front of the big screen.  The place was packed with Bama fans and two sad LSU fans. :)  Gammy watched the baby for us, but he was at home representing his team, don't worry!  We had a wonderful time and we are so glad that the game turned out in our favor! Bama played hard, and the Bama nation will get to enjoy another year of being the best in the country!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!
