New House...the Lukers are here!

Friday was FINALLY moving day! We were so excited.  The plan was for us to get up, and I would go ahead and take the boys to school. Then, I would go clean the house while Jeff went to meet the movers at the storage unit. Well, that didn't happen.  The movers called while I was taking the boys and told Jeff that the guy that usually drives the 30-foot truck had a wreck earlier, so they would have to wait.  They would call us when they were on their way. Meanwhile, Jeff and I went ahead and took stuff over to the house from Terry and Amy's and started cleaning.  Finally, at 2:30 p.m. (they were supposed to be there at 8 a.m.) the movers called and said they were on their way to the storage  unit. They sent us an extra guy to help since they were super late.  I believe they finally left the house at 9 p.m. Jeff and I set up our bed and crashed around 10:30.
Earlier, Mom and Paul had come into town.  They got the boys around 11 or so and took them with them to the campground to spend the night and hang out with them and Harv and Bett.
Gigi and Pappy got a new camper, so the boys hung out.  The weather wasn't the best while they were there.

Hanging out by the campfire.  H looks a little tired, huh?

Saturday morning, Harrison had soccer photos and a game.  I will say, that kid played hard!! He got to throw the ball in, and he managed to get a foot on it a time or two! We were so proud!
Before we left the house, he had fallen and bloodied up his little knee.  He was being EXTRA careful not to hurt it while he was taking his pictures.

Taking a rest from playing....

Meanwhile, this kid was running Daddy ragged trying to run all over the other fields.
The boys went back to the campground with Mom and Paul, then they brought them home around 5 that evening.  Sunday was spent unpacking and unpacking and unpacking.
This was Sunday riding toys down the driveway.  H was helping Huddy. So sweet.  The boys were both so excited to get all of their toys out of storage. We've hardly seen Harrison because he has been in his room playing most of the time.

Monday, I took off work to work on the house.  Around 2:15, I got a phone call from the school saying that Huddy had woken up from his nap crying and with a 101.5 degree fever.  I called the pediatrician immediately, and they said that they could see him at three. Thank goodness.  Turns out, the baby had a double ear infection.  He was not happy to be there. He didn't want anyone to touch him, especially his ears...just like his Aunt Katie with that one. He weighed 31 lbs. though! This kid hardly ever shows any signs of his ears being infected.  We usually don't know until he has a fever or has goop. He's such a trooper when it comes to that stuff. The doctor said that he should be starting to grow out of the ear infections since he has passed two.  Hopefully, she's right.
Yes, I got him a milkshake. Poor guy.

This was after a dose of children's Advil.  He felt somewhat better.

Yesterday, he didn't wake up until 11! Then, he took a three-hour-nap and still went to bed at 7:30. He was so pitiful. The night before, he fell asleep in my arms on the couch. Talk about melting my heart!
Luckily, today, he felt so much better.  I let him sleep this morning to see how he felt, and he was a whole new Huddy when he woke up.
There's our happy boy! Thumbs up!
We are slowly but surely getting the house together.  I forgot how long it takes for it all to be done.  We are waiting on carpet in the game room and a couple other things, but it's coming together.

House Preview & Restless Heart

I had to go to the new house yesterday for our bedroom flooring to be installed, so I took the opportunity to take a few photos to just give everyone an idea of how the house is coming.
This is our guest room.  I don't usually do too many light or pastel colors, just because they aren't my thing.  However, our bedding for the guest room  has this color bedding and I recently refinished a mirror with a light blue to go with it. So, we will see how it turns out.

At the top of the stairs.  I didn't want to take photos of everything, because I wanted y'all to see it when it's finished.

Harrison's room...he wanted it blue.  Let's just say when it's done, it will be "super." :)

This is Huddy's red room...I bet this one will be a "home run."

This is the living room.  Excuse the rugs.  We were laying them out to flatten a little. The paint looks darker in this photo than it really is.  It's the color that the wall is in the stairs photo.

Our master bedroom. The walls are more of a slate blue.  I was mainly just taking a photo of the new flooring!

We cannot wait to move in.  However, last night, we had to take a break from packing, painting, and all that jazz.  Terry and Amy invited us to a charity concert with Restless Heart as the main performers.  It was so much fun! I didn't realize how many RH songs I knew until last night.  It was in the Franklin Theatre in downtown Franklin.  I have been wanting to check that place out since we first visited.  It did not disappoint.  There's actually a festival around there this weekend, but we have moving priorities.
That's a group called No Solution behind us.  Keep an eye out for those girls...you heard it here first, folks.
And...I believe either Wes or Jim was making Jeff laugh. :)

Restless Heart

Tonight, we will commence with all the tasks at hand, and there probably won't be a post until next week...I have a busy weekend!

Happenings Lately

This weekend was busy as usual for the Lukers.  Harrison had his second soccer game. I know they don't keep score, but if they were, the Blue Titans definitely would've won! Harrison is still working on getting out there and actually going for the ball. But I'm sure he will warm up to it.  He goes out there to play and ends up wrestling his teammates...
Running after his friend, Hudson, I'm sure to tackle him.

So sweet!! They do love each other so much.

Getting ready for the kick!
After the game, we went home and since the Alabama game wasn't until 8:15, the boys and I took a nap.  Jeff doesn't like to take naps (I know, right?!) so he took the opportunity to go paint a little at the house.  After we all woke up, we ordered pizza since it was game night.  Any excuse for pizza, am I right?  Maybe it's just me...

Usually, Huddy is up for any kind of  photo op, but he was not having it Saturday night.  Maybe he had a gut feeling about the Bama game. :( Oh, and I had to get glasses on Friday.

On another note, we are moving in this weekend! The painters have all of the downstairs done, and the flooring people are coming in to install the hard woods in our room tomorrow.  Mom, Paul, Harv and Bett are all coming up this weekend,  (Nanny's family lives here in Nashville.) Mom and them are taking the boys while we move in on Friday and Saturday.  We are so excited. We are so grateful for Terry and Amy putting up with our family of four plus Sammy for the past three months.  It couldn't have been easy having us invade the house!

Sunday, everyone was completely exhausted.  Well, everyone except our sweet little early bird, Harrison. He was up at 6:15. H and I let the other two sleep. Jeff slept until after ten, which is very unusual for that guy.  Then, Huddy didn't wake up until 10:30! After we ate, I took the boys to get their hair cut, while Jeff went to work at the house.  If anyone needs a painter, call that guy! He has been working so hard to get it all done for us to move in.

Amy made herself a smoothie, complete with kale, spinach, mushrooms, and some coconut milk. Harrison practically died when he just took a lick off the spoon.  However, our little disposal  had two glasses (small glasses, didn't know what it would do to his little belly) and drank them all up. Check out his mustache!

That's it for the past few days.  Aunt Laura, I will get some pics of the house and post them since it's all painted. :)

Another Year of being 23

I know Jeff probably gets tired of me saying that I'm 23, but oh well! Love you, honey. Turning 23 (+8) was wonderful!! My boys really know how to treat a lady right. We went to eat Friday night, and enjoyed a quiet night after that.
Then, Sunday, Terry cooked us some steaks and Bob and Viv (Jeff's grandparents) came in. I think they just came to see the house; it just so happened to be the day we celebrated my birthday.
The cake was delicious! I had to get Harrison straight on the fact that for Mom's birthday, we eat strawberry cake. He can have his chocolate on his birthday.
Harrison made this for me on Friday at school. What a little sweetheart!
We spent Sunday afternoon outside where the weather was beautiful!!!
I got a ton of sweet birthday wishes from everyone. It made me feel really loved. :)
Thanks to everyone for all the birthday love!!

First Soccer Game

Harrison played his first soccer game today. Their team name is the Blue Titans, which caused a commotion with our sweet boy. He picked Blue Dragons, but we live outside of Nashville. What ya gonna do? He has been so excited about his game. He wanted to start getting ready three hours before.
Look at our little soccer stud!  There are a few older kids on his team, so when they started, they were dominant! The Titans probably out scored the other team by 7-2.
Waiting to go in.
He played well! He got a little distracted and by the end of the game, he was over it. He said he didn't know it was going to take so long.
Look at that speedster!
Praying after the game!
We are so proud of Harrison! Can't wait to watch more of his games!!

Our New House

These are a few before pics of the house. It's currently being painted and a few things are being fixed. The kitchen needs to be updated, but we are going to wait a few months to do that. We are going to try out the pool this weekend with Jesie.
That's the view from the road in front of the house. Love that big tree!!
Entry way and into the living area.
The best part!! This pool and giant yard! And don't worry, the boys were being watched carefully. There were three of us there.

I'm not positive when it will all be done, but when it is, I will be sure to post the pics!

Busy, Busy, Busy

To say these past few days have been busy, is a total understatement. We went to Harrison's Meet and Greet for his new soccer team. He fit right in. The team conisists of 4, 5, and 6-year-olds, so he is close to the youngest on the team. A couple of the kids have played for three years! I'm sure H will have fun though. Monday, we went to his first soccer practice. They went around the circle, introducing themselves. H proudly stood up and said, "I'm Harrison, the new guy!" Funny, funny fella! He had so much fun, and we can't wait for the games.
Monday, we also closed on our house!!! We are officially Tennessee homeowners. We still have some work to do before we move in, but it is very exciting to have our house now.
Jeff and Terry met with a contractor at the new house on Monday evening, so after practice, we met them over there with a little picnic.
We have many more adventures in this new house, and we can't wait. I promise before/after pics soon.
