What's Up Wednesday

I saw this on a blog that I started following recently.  I thought I'd give it a whirl.

What I'm Loving:

This cooler weather! It is completely different from Texas. It has been in the 50's at night, and has only been getting up to around 80 the past few days.  At work, I had a heater on. It's so weird to have to turn the seat warmer on in the car in AUGUST!!!!! I didn't know you could actually do that.

What I'm Dreading:
I thought turning 30 was dreadful, but it turns out 31 is just as such.  I know it beats the alternative, but it still stinks getting older.

What I'm Excited About:
I'm excited about Harrison starting soccer.  We have a meet-and-greet this Saturday, practice starts Monday, and his first game is September 12! I can't believe he is big/old enough to join in a team sport.

What I'm Watching:
Hard Knocks!! We were obsessed with this show even before the Texans were on there.

I LOVE Below Deck!!! Jeff started watching it with me last season, so we are both hooked.  The season premier was last night, and it's as funny as ever.

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month:

ALABAMA FOOTBALL!! Ok, really just football period! It's been a long and crazy off season, and I'm ready to get back in the swing of football weekends.  Also, depending on our soccer star's games, we may get to go to a few. ROLL TIDE!!

New School

Harrison and Hudson have only been going to school for a couple of weeks, but we already see so much that they're learning. Harrison came home last week knowing how to write his name (without help from the teacher) and spell his name out loud! We are so proud of him. While we were in Texas, he was always a little nervous in the morning about school, but he is loving it here. He actually woke up Saturday wondering if he got to go to school. Now, he is a tad like his mom in that he still gets shy around new people, but he is getting so much more at ease with his classmates and teachers.
This was H and his friend the other day after having a "camp out" at school!
Huddy is doing great as well! He's always been so friendly and a "go with the flow"kid. He is missing some sleep though.
He's usually still asleep when I go in there in the mornings. He tries to catch up on his sleep on the weekends, but he never seems to get it right. Once he's up, he's good to go though.
We love the new school, and we couldn't be more proud of the boys for doing so well.

Jesie Goes To College

I can't believe today has come! My "BABY" sister, Jesie, is in her first class in COLLEGE! Ahem, Roll Tide.  We are so incredibly proud of her.  However, I still for the most part remember her like this:
Katie, this pic reminds me of T!

Yes, those are croutons.

My favorite picture EVER of Jesie!
She has grown into a beautiful young lady, and I am so grateful that she is my sister.  Harrison and Huddy adore her! God blessed this family with Jesie.

:)
We all know that Jesie will do great things.  We love you, Doodlebug! Have fun on this adventure.

Happenings Lately

Just a warning...this is more of a picture post.  There has been a lot of little things going on. So, enjoy the photos. :)

The boys' new school has a Facebook page.  This was on there the other day. How cute!!
Huddy is pretty popular at school.  We've been told that everyone loves him.  Other classes even ask for him to come over there...

Mimi cooked meatloaf one night.  Huddy ate it up! He was also dipping his carrots in ketchup...thanks Parkers! :)

Handsome guys!!

Harrison went to go play golf one night with Daddy, Papa and Michael.  This is what Huddy and I did while they were gone...

True golfer!

H had his first official day of Pre-K the other day.  Now, Bubba is pretty popular himself at school.  We walked in the other day, and as soon as he walked in, FOUR girls said, "heeeyyyyy Harrison!" Mama isn't ready for these girls!!

Harrison starts soccer in a couple weeks.  Daddy went ahead and got his new soccer ball and shin guards (or crutches as Harrison calls them?) to practice.  I can't wait to see him in an actual game!

Harrison is FOUR!

Our sweet boy that made us parents turned four years old at the end of June!! I can't believe how fast time has flown by with this guy.  It seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital, then turned around and went back to the hospital, then got him home for good. :)
Harrison is definitely all boy, but has a precious sensitive side.  He genuinely cares for people.  He loves sports.  We recently enrolled him in soccer. He has watched Reese play for a couple of years and he was very excited to get to play.  Harrison can still be pretty shy around new people though.  He gets that from his Mama.  Jeff's family says that he is definitely his Daddy's child in other ways though.  He's funny, smart and very handsome! He loves playing and wrestling with Huddy and Daddy (or anyone else who wants to wrestle.) Again, ALL BOY!!

Harrison:

-weighs 40 lbs.  He's in the 80% for weight as he's been pretty much his entire four years.
-is 39.5 inches tall.  He's in the 33%.  Par for the course.

I am so glad that God blessed us with our two little fellows.  We couldn't have asked for better boys for our family!

Huddy and Daddy....and my excellent photography skills!

The birthday boy playing!

Grayson...jelly belly over his tan!

Happy Birthday Bubba!!

May 2015

I'm still trying to remember all the things that have been going on in the past few months.  There have been a ton!!
In May, we decided to take a trip to Tennessee.  (Yes, I know that I'm backtracking.)  Jeff had been discussing his dad's job for a while.  I had just started back working at the billing office, so we didn't want to make any rash decisions.  Jeff and I decided that we would come to Tennessee for about a week.  He could go to work with his dad for a day or two just to see if it was something that he would be really interested in.  We decided to drive, but split the trip up into two days.  Just like the boys and I did during the move.  It was just a lot easier with two little boys who are very, very active.

Our first day here, Mimi took the boys and me to see a buffalo.  The boys loved it!!

H working in Papa's office.

We went to the Nashville Zoo.  The boys got to pet kangaroos.

Very interested in the animals.

I'll add just a few more pics to sum up our month of May! Some of these may have been in June...

Sweet Baby Lucas!

TROUBLE! We went to watch Reese's dance recital.  This was the first time that I have been.  And since Katie and them were here, we took Taryn with us and Katie and Didi watched the younger ones.  Reese did excellent!!! She can for sure dance better than her Juju!

LOVE!!

H came down with strep throat! Poor guy.  He felt awful, but he managed to give me one of those million dollar smiles!

Then there's this character...

A little swimming with Gammy, Reese, Teeny, Grayson, Lucas and Huddy!

Check out his hair! #getsitfromhismama

Huddy's Second Birthday

I CANNOT believe that our sweet, independent, quiet Huddy is two years old!! This baby makes us smile every single day.  He is such an amazing little boy.  He's super silly, but very serious at times.  A few things he takes very seriously: rocking in the rocking chair, food and his favorite thing ever, Pluto!
Huddy is very laid-back and pretty content with anything that is going on.  He will let you just hold him and cuddle.  He's always been that way, and selfishly, I hope he is that way until he grows up.  He loves to dance and sing.

A few stats for the baby:

And, yes, I know he's not a baby anymore, but I'm his Mama.  I do what I want.

-weighs 29.7 lbs.  He is in the 75% for weight.  A big step up from barely being on the charts at his one-week appointment.
-is 32 inches tall. He's only in the 25% for height.  Poor guy.
-eats anything you put in front of him.  The only thing he has actually said that he doesn't like is potato salad.  I don't think he's had Nanny's though.
-doesn't watch tv a lot, unless it's Mickey Mouse, ball, or music videos.
-LOVES swimming!!! He has no fear of the water, which makes me a huge ball of anxiety.
-loves playing with his big brother. They can be so sweet together.  But when he gets ready to be by himself, he doesn't want anyone to mess with him at all.

Disclaimer: I can't find all of my pics from his birthday party.  They may be on the camera that is packed up right now...

Katie, the girls, and DREW came in for Huddy's party! These two are so funny together.

How pretty is my sister?!

"Tatie" and the birthday boy!

Twinkies

Huddy and "nannah" (Hannah)

Mom got Huddy a new Pluto for his birthday.  He does like it, but he still won't let go of the original!

Happy Second Birthday Hudson Bryant!!! Mama, Daddy and Bubba love you, boy!

The Lukers are...Tennesseans?

Yep, you read it right! This bunch of Lukers packed up and moved northeast to Franklin, Tennessee.

Jeff's dad offered him a brand spankin new job that doesn't require weekends at the office or super late nights most of the week.  Sounds too good to be true, right?!  It's legit (thanks, Target lady.)   Currently, we are living in the basement of Terry and Amy's. Well, Harrison gets the guest bedroom upstairs and Sam has abandoned us for Michael's bed.  Only for a couple more weeks, though.  We close on our new home (complete with a pool and HUGE yard!) on August 31.
Some of you may think I'm nuts, but when I was a senior in high school, we had to fill out our senior book and one of the questions was, "Where do you want to live when you're older?" And, yes, I put Nashville.  Now, while we aren't right in the thick of Nashville, we are about 20 minutes from downtown. And, I think this works out better since we have two tiny children.
We absolutely love it here! Jeff is loving his new job.  Harrison is about to begin soccer, and Huddy's teacher at his new school bears a striking resemblance to my Nanny, so he is loving school! Also, we have already seen my side of the family a couple of times, too. Nanny's family had a family reunion a few weeks ago, so we got to see Harv, Bett, Aunt Laura and Jeff!!  It's a lot easier to meet in the middle here as well.  The boys went and stayed for a whole 10 days in Alabama while Jeff and I went to Albany, New York for some training for his new job.  And Jesie came up and stayed for a couple nights when we got back. We should be seeing a lot more of her since we have tickets to home Alabama games and she is now residing in TUSCALOOSA!!  We are also a lot closer in proximity to Jeff's grandparents.  Harrison, Jeff and Papa went to hang out with them Saturday and from what I hear, Harrison and Nanny are BFF's after four scrambled eggs, mac and cheese, hot dogs, m &ms and ice cream...
While we do love it, we REALLY miss our Texas people! Teeny, Reese, Grayson and Baby Lucas have already made a trip out here to see us.  And we hope to see Gammy (NaeNae) out here soon!!! We are super ready for her to visit.  So, hurry up NaeNae!!
Packing up the Texas house! Adios!

Jeff and Terry drove all the way through during the move.  The boys and I decided to only do halfway one day, then the other half the next.  This was our night in the hotel.  :)
